The title is called.. My First Trip to Boston – Part 1

It all started with a crazy idea to go on a solo trip to the US as I have been saving up on my vacation for the whole year… Saving up on vacation? Naah it was getting accumulated throughout the year because I didn’t take any vacation time due to a very busy year at work. What an amazing year it has been. As I started this year with my first ever trip to the United States of America. I thought its only fair to end it with a vacation at the same place and welcome the year 2019 most probably at New York, Times Square!.

So the plan for the trip happened as if… Like Karan Johar movie dialogue “If you want something and you really wish for it wholeheartedly it will come true” it happened all of a sudden, a ticket which was very costly (around 90k) was all of a sudden available at very cheap price (65k) in the best airline (Emirates). I booked it taking a risk that if things don’t work out then I will cancel. So it was decided I will be going to the East Cost this time and covering the areas in that side of the country. The most important plan for this trip was also to meet my SIL and Co-Brother, (Karthik and Vignesh my little nephews) My best Friend Ravi. So a trip was planned to Atlanta and tickets were booked.

So the D day came. I definitely did NOT pack anything properly and had to rush back from office by 7pm and start packing, my in-laws decided to bring a big bag of goodies for the family which was supposed to be arranged and packed and then set in the suitcase. Finally, the packing was completed by 11.30pm. The flight was at 4.20am in the morning the cab was booked to pick me up by 1.30am and my dear wife insists that I sleep for 1 hour before getting ready and starting to the airport. So I dozed off into this beautiful sleep with zero tension as everything was planned perfectly, what happens next is the unexpected twist of events….

I woke up in a shock that I slept a little late, when I checked the mobile phone it was 1.19am, I was furious that the cab driver didn’t call and called the helpline number and said why didn’t I get the cab yet ? I was in for a rude shock when I heard that the company was trying to call me for 2 hours and my mobile was not reachable or switched off, So I did the most technically advanced troubleshooting of my mobile , I restarted my phone and I got the cab booking details and also the information on the cab driver etc, I immediately called the driver and he promised to meet me at my house in 15 mins. I jumped out of the bed into the bathroom took a super quick shower and rushed all the packed bags into the cab and looked at my watch and the time was 1.49am. I was just wishing that they airline would board me even though I reach the airport 1 hour before the departure of my flight. The cab driver was probably the second cousin of Micheal Schumacher he reached the airport by 2.30am. I rushed into the airport with all the luggage and checked in with some last minute weight distribution between my bags as per the airline guideline and finally fnished my check-in. Went straight into the lounge for a good fresh Indian breakfast and a good coffee (Why would I leave my free International lounge access to go waste :D.

Checked in on FB to let everyone know that I’m flying to Boston and then……. Boarded the flight thinking what next ? Part 2 coming sooon
